Configuration Management in Kotlin: The Basics (Englisch)
- 16. Oktober 2023
- 14:00–14:45 Uhr
Detailed talk description
Engineers are dealing with configs like tokens, server URL, profiles etc. But what would be the best way to store them in your new project? Right in the code? In an external config file? Somewhere else? In this live coding session we’ll try to figure out which criteria is the most important for various setups and which trade-offs do we face. And, of course, in Kotlin.
Things you will learn in this lecture
- Pros and cons to »configurations as a code« and »configurations as a file«;
- Scaling of configurations and choosing the right format;
- Storing sensitive configs and switching over multiple contexts;
- Tips and tricks for refactoring.
